Abstract
Smart meters and IoT are replacing analogue meters in modern homes, digitizing energy monitoring. This study proposes an Intrusive Energy Management (IEM) approach using IoT architecture layers (appliance, perception, communication, middleware, application) to identify activities. The system monitors electricity, gas, water, and heating, enabling users to track total energy consumption and facilitating smart energy management. © 2023 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
