Abstract

Consumers and utility companies may be affected by poor power quality due to harmonics, voltage drops, and swells. Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR), a D-FACTS device, is proposed to improve voltage quality in distribution systems. Using Proportional Integral digital control signals, the DVR reduces torque ripple in brushless DC motors. The approach achieves 3.2 Nm average torque, 10.64% torque ripple, 8.56 I RMS DC link current, 961.52 W power, and 2333.9 rpm speed, outperforming FCS-MPC, PWM-MPC, and RSC methods. © 2023 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
