Abstract

Green synthesis of gold, copper, and silver nanoparticles is growing due to medical applications. Plant extracts provide health-protective components. Silver nanoparticles show antimicrobial, anticancer, and antidiabetic activities. This study evaluated yield and antioxidant activity of silver nanoparticles from Simarouba glauca leaf extracts (methanol, ethanol, chloroform, ethyl acetate, water). Characterization used absorption and vibrational spectra. Highest yield obtained from ethanol extract (72%), chloroform extract (39%). Methanol extract nanoparticles showed best antioxidant activity (IC50 = 16.59 μg/ml) due to phytochemical concentration differences. © 2022 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
