Abstract

This chapter discusses distributed computing applications, including grid, cloud, and fog/edge computing. Cloud computing services such as IaaS, SaaS, PaaS, and SECaaS are reviewed. The chapter also explores fog computing for low-latency and bandwidth-efficient distributed services. Energy consumption optimization techniques in cloud and fog environments are discussed, highlighting how distributed resources can be effectively utilized while minimizing energy use.
