Abstract

This research investigates the photocatalytic performance of nitrogen ion (N+)–implanted anodized Ti combined with hydroxyapatite nanostructures for degradation of organic contaminants. N+ implantation at 70 keV with varying doses (1 × 10^16 to 2.5 × 10^17 ions/cm²) modified surface morphology, increased surface energy, and enhanced charge transfer. Characterization using IR, XRD, and microscopy confirmed structural and morphological changes. Optimal photocatalytic performance was observed at 5 × 10^16 N+/cm². The N+–implanted Ti exhibited superior photocatalytic efficiency compared to unmodified samples, demonstrating its potential for environmental remediation applications. © 2022 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
