Abstract
Microorganism involvement in carbonate precipitation reduces CO2 emissions in construction engineering. A ureolytic bacterium (Geobacillus stearothermophilus UB13) was isolated and optimized for biocementation. Maximum calcium carbonate formation achieved with 8% urea. The results suggest UB13 is highly effective for biomineralization.
