Abstract

Stir casting process is used to create A16061 aluminium alloy-Copper-Zinc metal matrix composites in this study. Copper, Zn reinforcing hard ceramic particles play a critical role in the material's characteristics. As a result, Al6061 aluminium alloy-based metal matrix composites are made with varying percentages of Cu and Zn particles. The current research focuses on the mechanical properties and tnbology of newly developed A16061 aluminium alloy-based metal matrix composites. A Bnnell hardness testing machine is used to measure the hardness of aluminium alloy-based MMCs. The Ultimate Tensile Strength Machine was used to calculate the tensile strength. The amount of particle reinforcement enhances the toughness. © 2023 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
