Abstract

This study evaluated motivational enhancement therapy in substance abuse patients. Post-test results showed improved coping levels (adequate: 66.7% vs. 49.17%) and significant improvement in life satisfaction. A strong positive correlation (r = 0.778) existed between coping and life satisfaction. The therapy enhances emotional, cognitive, and social functioning.
