Abstract

The present study deals with two well-known natural fibers the CF [Coir Fiber], and PALF [Pineapple Leaf Fiber] both of them were inserted into a PLA [Polylactic Acid]. The biocomposite is manufactured in various ratios through the help of a hot press machine and interior mixer plasticizer. The thermal and mechanical property analyses are done and then the outcome from the process is compared with that the pure Polylactic Acid. From the mechanical analysis, it was found that the composite is having high TS and FS [Tensile and Flexural Strength] when compared to that of the pure PLA. From the DMA [Dynamic Mechanical Analysis] it was clear that the loss moduli and storage of PALF/PLA/CF in the proposed hybrid composite process likely to increase the strength than that of the pure PLA. The CTE [coefficient of thermal expansion] of the Polylactic Acid composite reduced with the added value of fiber content. From the outcome, it is clear that the hybrid composite of PALF and CF is having a ratio of 1:1 where the mechanical and thermal property improved and the stability of the composite enhanced the life of the application and it was widely used for structural components and packing. © 2023 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
