Abstract

Odour is a major concern as it is hazardous to surroundings and living beings when emitted into the environment. Odour emission indicates environmental changes. This study relates odour emission and concentration changes caused by weather patterns. Waste of different ages (fresh, moderate, ripened) and seasons (summer/winter) affect odour concentration. Meteorological conditions play a vital role in odour concentration. The maximum VOC (T-butylbenzene 1.41µg/m3) and minimum (Sec-butylbenzene 0.07µg/m3) were recorded. This study provides insights into odour emissions and VOC presence in urban dumping yard surroundings. © 2023 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
