Abstract

According to the recent survey conducted regarding the production, disposal, and recycling aspects related to the plastics, about 80% of the plastic materials produced are disposed after use. About 20% of the plastics disposed are recycled. Polyethylene terephthalate—PET—is a widely used thermoplastic material for manufacturing synthetic textile fiber, containers, for storing food items and glass fiber-reinforced composites. The issues related to the PET-based composites are reviewed. © 2024 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
