Abstract

This study presents a bibliometric analysis of literature on artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and job displacement from 1984 to 2024. Using Scopus, 225 relevant documents were analyzed with R Studio and VOSviewer. Findings reveal trends in publication growth, citation metrics, and researcher collaboration networks. Key technological advancements coincide with increased research output, highlighting evolving discourse on AI and automation’s impact on the workforce. Keyword analysis identifies prevailing themes and interconnected research contributions. This review provides a foundational understanding and future research directions in AI, automation, and job displacement. © 2024 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
