The rapid advancement of electric vehicles (EVs) relies heavily on efficient and reliable battery technologies. Thermal management is critical for optimizing battery performance, extending lifespan, and ensuring safe operation. This study reviews various temperature control techniques used in Battery Thermal Management Systems (BTMS), including air cooling, liquid cooling, and phase change materials. These techniques maintain optimal operating temperatures, prevent thermal runaway, and enhance overall battery performance. Effective BTMS significantly improves vehicle range, charging speed, and safety. As battery technology evolves, thermal management remains crucial for the future of EVs. © 2024 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
