Abstract

This research proposes using decision trees (DTs) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies for remote rehabilitation and physical therapy management. People with mobility issues or who live in rural places may find traditional physical treatment difficult to attend. IoT technologies, including motion sensors, wearable technology, smart rehabilitation equipment, and DTs algorithms, are used to create personalized and effective rehabilitation programs. The patient's movements, progress, and treatment compliance are tracked by IoT devices. DTs algorithms examine this data to find patient insights and proposed therapeutic activities and changes. The patient responds to therapy, the DTs may alter and develop to keep the rehabilitation program successful and personalized to their requirements. This strategy might improve rehabilitation services, healthcare professional workload, and patient results by using remote monitoring and personalized treatment management. It enables real-time decision-making and proactive intervention, making rehabilitation programs more effective and focused. The proposed system uses IoT technology and DTs algorithms to enhance patient care and results for remote rehabilitation and physical therapy management. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
