Abstract

The nine-level cascaded multilevel inverter is presented in this article. It is mainly used for medium voltage and medium power applications. The main intention of this research work is to generate nine level ac output with a dc power excitation. In this topology, the number of power switches is reduced. The phase deposition pulse width modulation technique is implemented in this topology for nine level ac voltage generations. The proposed inverter was tested and results were validated. The harmonic analyses of the proposed inverter topology with three control techniques are illustrated. The total harmonic distortions of the inverter with various control techniques are compared. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
