In double-pipe type heat exchangers, the process parameters controlled by an interacting unit using a computer are concentrated in this study. Controlling the process parameter through a computer involves changing the hot water's temperature before it enters the heat exchanger using a solid-state relay. At various flow rates, the effectiveness and heat transfer rate under co-current and counter-current flow has been analysed in this research. To monitor and manage the process, the controller is linked to the computer through USB. Hardware and user-friendly software will be provided in order to conduct various experiments. The outputs obtained by conducting experiments are optimized by using an Artificial neural network. © 2024 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
