Conventional machining techniques for super alloys have a number of drawbacks, including increased heat-affected area, poor surface quality of the completed product, and tool wear. The use of unconventional methods consisting of various machining processes like laser beam, electrochemical, plasma arc, electric discharge can reduce these problems. Anodic disintegration is the underlying concept of electrochemical micromachining (ECMM). The ECMM technology makes it simple to machine materials that are challenging to work with. The manufacturing sectors of pharmaceuticals and perforated orifices are where super alloy is used in micro-domains. The present research used the ECMM technique to carry out micro-drilling on super alloy. During micromachining, a super alloy, the effects of two distinct electrolytes, which sodium chloride (non-passivating) and sodium nitrate (passivating), were examined. To achieve the highest material removal rate (MRR), the Response surface methodology (RSM) technique was suggested. With the use of desirability evaluation, the output response MRR was examined. © 2024 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
