Abstract

Rice blast, caused by Pyricularia oryzae, severely affects rice production. This study evaluated homoeopathic medicines Thuja and Sulphur as eco-friendly alternatives to fungicides. Field trials using IR50 rice were conducted with Thuja (6X, 30X), Sulphur (6X, 30X), and controls. Due to field limitations, in silico docking of Thujone with fungal proteins (ABC1, CLP1, HRIP1, CTI6) was performed. Docking results indicated strong binding, especially with CLP1 (docking score: −5.095 kcal/mol). Hydrogen bonding and key residue interactions support Thujone’s antifungal potential. Despite inconclusive field data, homoeopathic remedies show promise as sustainable alternatives. Further controlled trials are recommended. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
