This randomized trial compared plain lignocaine versus lignocaine with adrenaline for peribulbar anaesthesia in hypertensive patients undergoing ocular surgery. One hundred hypertensive patients were assessed for anaesthesia onset time, pain levels, blood pressure, pulse rate, and intraocular pressure. The lignocaine-adrenaline group demonstrated faster onset (3.2 ± 0.5 vs 5.1 ± 0.7 min) and reduced pain, with similar hemodynamic stability in both groups. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
