Abstract

Cardiovascular health remains a concern for individuals' health, and nutrition has a major influence on how this issue can be addressed and solved. This chapter provides a thorough interlocution of nutritional interventions that are supposed to improve cardiovascular health and their theoretical application in the cardiovascular management of patients. Therefore, assessing the effects of consuming different dietary components will help to form a coherent picture of how nutrition affects heart disease and contributes to the therapeutic process. To commence with the analysis of the different macronutrients, carbohydrates, proteins, and fats were defined together with their places in cardiovascular functionality. We explored the advantages of proper macronutrient distribution, which requires prioritizing excellent protein, carbohydrate, and fat sources including whole grains, lean meats, and omega-3 fatty acids. In addition, we focused on the negative effects of refined sugars and trans fats, drawing a relationship with cardiovascular diseases. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
